Last week, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, found Iran responsible for the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. But wait; wasn't al-Qaeda responsible for those bombings?
The evidence showed that while al-Qaeda carried out the bombings, they would not have been possible without "direct assistance" from Iran. Judge John Bates wrote that "the government of Iran aided, abetted, and conspired with Hizbullah, Osama bin Laden, and al-Qaeda to launch [the] large-scale bombing attacks against the United States."
This serves as simply one example of how Iran has become entangled with terrorist entities such as al-Qaeda, Hizbullah, Hamas, etc.
Al-Qaeda's leadership has become so decimated, as a result of U.S., and even Pakistani, attacks upon it that it is no longer a significant threat on its own. So, enter Iran, which is willing to work with any terrorist entity that will serve to advance the Khamenei-Ahmadinejad-Mahdi agenda. Iran has funded and armed al-Qaeda in its pursuit of regional domination.
In addition, the Iranian regime has funded, armed, and trained Hizbullah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. These two terrorist groups are neighbors of Israel and serve Iran's goal to eliminate the Jewish nation.
That is part of the Mahdi-driven plan which Iranian leaders Ali Khamenei, Iran's spiritual leader, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, are zealously pursuing. The Mahdi, or Twlefth Imam, is the Muslim messiah Islamic Shiites believe will return to bring the world under submission of Islam. These Iranian leaders believe they are in direct communication with the Mahdi and that he is leading them to acquire nuclear weapons in order to complete their global goal.
Thus, Iran seeks nuclear capability in order to dominate the region and eliminate Israel. Then it will attempt to bring Europe into submission, followed by its pursuit of dominating the United States.
This emphasizes the danger Iran currently is to the region—and to the world—but it signals why it would be a travesty to allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. In addition, Iran's entanglement with dangerous terrorist groups shows why the Iranian regime will need to upended. It is not only the danger to the world that cries for regime change in Iran, but Bible prophecy shows the necessity of replacing the regime.
End-times Bible prophecy shows that the world will come to a point of believing it has finally achieved "peace and security" (see 1 Thessalonians 5:3). But how could world leaders come to that understanding at the same time terrorism is running rampant, aided by Iran, the largest supporter of terrorism in the world? The answer is: It could not. This means that terrorism will need to be defeated (or at least appear to be defeated), and Iran will need a regime change.
An additional reason why the Iranian regime and its terrorist partners will need to be replaced is because they stand in the way of a regional treaty with Israel. The real problem to a peace deal in the Middle East is not the Palestinians—after all, there will be a peace treaty; it's just that the Palestinians will not be a part of it. No, the true impediment to a treaty is Iran. Since Bible prophecy shows there WILL be a treaty with Israel, one which will appear to affect the entire world (cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:3, for example), the government of Iran will need to be deposed for that to be accomplished.
Could that occur, and could it be soon? The answer to both questions is "yes."
Iran is on course to achieve nuclear capability within a year; thus, the regime must be stopped soon. There appears to be no way to halt the Iranian pursuit of nuclear weapons apart from a military attack. After all, the regime's pursuit of nuclear weapons is not a political one, but one done out of religious zeal. Only a regime change will have any effect on Iran's nuclear pursuit—and of its goal of world domination.
Sanctions against Iran will not bring a regime change. In fact, sanctions have not been effective in slowing the regime's pursuit of nuclear weapons, in part because of immense profits from near-record oil prices in recent years. In addition, Iran's "friends," Russia and China, have continued to do business with the rogue nation and have provided it virtually what it needs.
It will take a military strike—and soon, which is why British authorities have predicted that Israel could even launch an attack by Christmas. When a strike occurs, the Iranian opposition movement may utilize the chaos resulting from it to overthrow the government.
Because of Iran's entanglement with terrorist groups in the region, the fall of the Iranian regime would likely bring about a quick change in the Middle East as terrorism would come down with the Iranian leadership. With Iran and other terrorist groups out of the way, an alignment conducive to the end-times treaty with Israel would be created, the treaty that will start the clock ticking on the final seven years leading to the return of Christ. According to Bible prophecy, the changed Middle East environment, along with the treaty with Israel, would result in world leaders proclaiming, "Peace and security!"
This could be closer than we think.
