The Current Wars against Israel and End-Times Prophecy

New York Jewish Week sarcastically responded to the Secretary of Defense's public calling out of Israeli leadership in which he yelled out, "Just get to the [expletive] table [negotiating table]!" The tongue-in-cheek editorial announced: "How foolish of the rest of us not to have thought of [Panetta's] sage advice!" However, the editorial goes on to argue that the Israeli leadership has been prepared all along to get to the [expletive] table; it is the refusal of the Palestinians to acknowledge Israel's right to exist that has been the real problem.

A Cup of Trembling

This is the word of the Lord concerning Israel. The Lord, Who stretches out the Heavens Who lays the foundations of the Earth, and Who forms the spirit of man within him declares, “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem.
On that day when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves” (Zech 12:1-3).

Renewed fears of Israeli civil war after settlers attack IDF base

When Israel forcibly uprooted 10,000 Jews from Gaza and northern Samaria in 2005, many feared the outbreak of civil war in Israel. It didn't happen at that time, but experts argued that the groundwork had been laid for future armed conflict between the Jews of Judea and Samaria and the left-wing establishment that controls many of the state's main institutions.
When a group of young Jewish "settlers" stormed an Israeli army base in the Jordan Valley on Monday, it appeared those fears were becoming reality.

The Link between Iran, al-Qaeda, and End Times Prophecy

Last week, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, found Iran responsible for the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. But wait; wasn't al-Qaeda responsible for those bombings?
The evidence showed that while al-Qaeda carried out the bombings, they would not have been possible without "direct assistance" from Iran. Judge John Bates wrote that "the government of Iran aided, abetted, and conspired with Hizbullah, Osama bin Laden, and al-Qaeda to launch [the] large-scale bombing attacks against the United States."

Is The "Arab Spring Cause For Hope Or Concern?

For all those who are feeling elated at the downfall of dictators and what appears to be the spread of democracy across the Middle East, I'll tell you up front that I'm about to rain on your parade. It isn't because I want to, but I feel I need to!
Let's look at some of the facts.
Historically, given a choice Muslim societies tend to choose worse leaders than the ones they previously had. Take a look at Iran, Lebanon and Gaza. Radical Islam took over in the first; Hezbollah is pretty much running the show in the second, and Hamas the third. At this time, Tunisia is choosing a so-called moderate government based on Sharia. We'll see just how moderate they are down the line. In Egypt the only organized faction is the Muslim Brotherhood, so guess where my bets are concerning who runs their next government.

How God Used a German Officer to Save Israel and Preserve His Kingdom Plan

Can one man make a difference? He can where God is concerned. In fact, God could use one man to save the very focus of His kingdom plan, the nation of Israel. In addition, because God is a God of irony, He could even use a World War I German officer to save the future Jewish nation in order to preserve God's kingdom plan.
Last week, the Israel Daily Picture, published a photograph of a German General, Erich von Falkenhayn, leaving Palestine in 1918 with an amazing caption. (It was elaborated further by a Falkenhayn family genealogy, which was posted on the internet.) The information read: "While he was in command in Palestine, he was able to prevent Turkish plans to evict all Jews from Palestine . . . it is fair to say that Falkenhayn prevented the eradication of Jewish settlements in Palestine."

UN confirms Iran going Nuclear

In a report issued in early November, the United Nation's International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed for the first time that the rogue Muslim country of Iran, whose leaders frequently vow to destroy Israel, is indeed developing deadly nuclear weapons. The UN agency pointed to what it termed "credible intelligence" evidence that the Shiite clerical regime which has governed Iran since 1979 is engaged in various activities known to be essential to the development of powerful nuclear weapons, including high explosives testing, nuclear blast simulation, and production of a trigger used to detonate atomic bombs.

Poll: 80% of Israelis believe Iran strike will lead to war with Hamas, Hezbollah

With the winds of war swirling in the Middle East right now over a possible coming strike on Iran's nuclear program there has been a flurry of activity in the region as it concerns military preparations. The IDF just completed a week long exercise in Italy with the Italian military.
Further news reports indicate that the IDF will soon host the Greek and Italian militaries in Israel. This coupled with recent long range missions and reports that the UK and US maybe working with Israel on a strike has put the region in a very tension filled vacuum that could spiral out of control very easily.

Is Israel Preparing for an End-Times Attack on Iran?

Is Israel on the verge of launching a military strike against Iran? Strong evidence seems to point to this inevitability.
Israel has been warning the West that the window of opportunity to halt Iran's nuclear progress is closing. Israeli Foreign Ministry officials state that Iran's nuclear progress is outpacing political and sanction efforts, which means that the clock is ticking on Iran's efforts to achieve nuclear weapons.

Iran: Playing a Climactic Role in the End-Times Scenario

While a number of Bible prophecy advocates are promoting Iran's involvement in an impending invasion of Israel, exegetical evidence shows that Ezekiel 38 will not have an imminent fulfillment. (See the author's September 25th article, "Two Coming Invasions of Israel: Ezekiel 38 and 39.") However, it seems that Iran will still have a key role, leading to end-times fulfillment—one which we can discern by comparing the goal of its leadership with Biblical prophecy. As we do, we will see a very dramatic role played by the terrorist actor.

The Mounting War against Israel

There is nothing more dramatic, exciting, and tension-filled than God's blockbuster end-times drama. As with any great story, God's gripping drama of Biblical prophecy contains conflicts, twists and turns, ironies, and exciting climaxes. (Yes, God's end-times drama contains more than one climactic point.)
There is a sense in which that end-times story has already begun, as God aligns events and positions characters for the final seven years leading to the return of Christ. Thus, conflicts are occurring and the tension is mounting toward a climax.

Is an Ancient Jewish Prophecy of the Coming of the Messiah Now Being Fulfilled?

Israel National News wonders if an ancient Jewish prophecy about the coming of the Messiah is being fulfilled. In an article published Saturday, the Jewish news site explained that Jews who are familiar with a compilation of Aggadic exegesis called Yalkut Shimoni noticed in recent weeks that current tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia matches a prophecy it contains regarding the year in which the Messiah is to appear.
The prophecy, going back at least 700 years—and possibly much farther—predicts that Saudi Arabia will be provoked by Iran, and Israel will be in distress, as Iran seeks to destroy the world. In fact, the prophecy states: "The king of Persia [Iran] goes back and destroys the entire world. And all the nations of the world are in panic and distress and they fall upon their faces and are seized with pains like those of a woman giving birth..."

Panetta to Israel: Don't Touch Iran

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has given Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak a clear warning: don't attack Iran. Panetta pointed to a U.S. analysis that a strike on Iran would set back its nuclear program, which Iran says is only for peaceful purposes, by one or two years at most. It would also have implications for U.S. forces in the region.
He added that "thirdly, there are going to be economic consequences to that, that could impact not just on our economy but the world economy."
What to do, then, if a military strike would be both pointless and harmful?
"The United States feels strongly," Panetta says, "that the way to deal with [the problem] is to work with our allies, to work with the international community to develop the sanctions and the diplomatic efforts that would further isolate Iran."
