Poll: 80% of Israelis believe Iran strike will lead to war with Hamas, Hezbollah

With the winds of war swirling in the Middle East right now over a possible coming strike on Iran's nuclear program there has been a flurry of activity in the region as it concerns military preparations. The IDF just completed a week long exercise in Italy with the Italian military.
Further news reports indicate that the IDF will soon host the Greek and Italian militaries in Israel. This coupled with recent long range missions and reports that the UK and US maybe working with Israel on a strike has put the region in a very tension filled vacuum that could spiral out of control very easily.
According to military officials, the window of opportunity to strike Iran and destroy their nuclear program or at the least set it back significantly is closing rapidly as Iran moves the equipment and program underground.
A recent poll conducted by the Haaretz newspaper indicates that 80% of Israelis believe that an Iran strike will lead to war with the Iranian terrorist proxies of Hamas and Hezbollah who are currently armed to the teeth on the Israeli border. The fact is that given the prophetic scenario set by the Bible in Psalm 83, it is very likely that the region will see a conflict between Israel and the Iranian sponsored terrorist proxies. And this of course, will eventually lead to the "War of Gog/Magog" spoken of by the prophet Ezekiel in Ezekile 38-39. The Haaretz newspaper reports:

A large majority of Israeli citizens believe that a military operation in Iran will lead to a regional flare-up with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and Hezbollah to the north of Israel in Lebanon, a Haaretz poll revealed Thursday. According to a Haaretz-Dialog poll, 80% of respondents said they believed an attack on Iran will lead to war with Hamas and Hezbollah. 59% of respondents said they believe that it is highly likely that such a scenario will occur and 21% said that it is fairly likely that it will occur. Meanwhile, 20% said that the probability of a war is unlikely or entirely improbable. Further:

The poll, which queried both Jewish and Arab respondents, also asked whether people trusted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak "on the Iranian issue." Here the answer was more clear-cut, with 52 percent saying they do, compared to 37 percent who do not. Only 11 percent have no opinion. The article also had other results for differing questions that were of interest as well (see link for additional stats). But in my honest opinion anyway you slice it we will eventually see conflict break out as the Israelis will be forced to one way or another, with or without help from the US and UK, will have to take care of the Iranian nuclear problem. The ideal situation would be for the Israelis to have some sort of "coalition" that takes care of the Iranian nuclear problem so that the entire weight of the strike does not fall entirely on the Israelis. I feel that the US and UK should help the Israelis with this as the Iranian nuclear program is not just an Israeli problem, it is a world problem that requires a united effort.
Just how soon this will happen remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, the drumbeats of war are definitely getting louder and the threat of war is real. Bible prophecy predicts these things and we know that God's Word will always be fulfilled as he tells us the future before it happens. It's not a matter of IF these things will occur, but rather WHEN. And with things going like they are in the Middle East with the so called peace process being deadlocked, now more than ever might be an ideal time to take care of the Iranian problem once and for all. I've always believed that something big would have to occur to move Iran and the Russian led coalition down to Israel for an invasion and the sight of hundreds if not thousands of dead Russian and Iranian nuclear technicians being killed in such an operation would certainly fit the bill. While none of us wants to see a single soul perish, the fact of the matter is that God's Word tells us in Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38-39 that many will be killed because of their hatred for the Jews. Those who live by the sword, will die by the sword.
Let us continue to watch as events unfold in the region. It is my belief that we could all wake up one morning and find things going downhill very fast in the Middle East, especially with recent threats by Syria's Assad and the fall out of the Arab Spring. Keep watching, if you blink you might miss something. Stay tuned!
