Gog-Magog: Turkey and Hamas Relationship Blossoming

In bible prophecy we are told of a battle which will occur in the last days. Often referred to as the Battle of Gog-Magog, the list of nations which will participate in this end times attack on the nation of Israel are revealed to us in Ezekiel 38.
Below is a list of nations believed by most to be future members of the Gog-Magog confederacy:
  • Magog - Most agree this is a reference to Russia.
  • Meshech - Most associate this with modern day Turkey, ancient Anatolia, but some say it refers to the Moscow area.
  • Tubal - Most associate this with modern day Turkey, ancient Anatolia.
  • Persia - modern Iran
  • Ethiopia
  • Libya
  • Gomer - eastern Europe or Turkey
  • Togarmah - southeastern Europe or Turkey
For many years now I've been instructing my readers to keep a watchful eye on NATO member nation (and long-time ally of the West) Turkey. Why? Because, sooner or later, I knew Turkey was going to begin turning away from its allegiance to the West, growing more receptive to its neighbors in the Middle East, as well as increasingly hostile to Israel in preparation of the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39. This wasn't something I knew because of any wisdom or foresight of international diplomacy I possessed. It was something I knew because of God's Word alone. In recent years, to the glory of God and Him alone, there have been a host of tell-tale signs of this coming to pass, many of which I have been able to document and share with many, proof positive of the precision accuracy of God's prophetic Word.
The latest development? The Associated Press is today (2-12-12) reporting the following, in part:
Ties between Turkey, NATO's biggest Muslim member, and Hamas, the Islamic militant group that says Israel should not exist, are blossoming.
In the AP's article, there is discussion of the possibility Turkey's growing warmth with Hamas could soften its long-held position concerning Israel. But that notion is dismissed by Yigal Palmor, a spokesman for the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
"If Turkey's approach would have the effect of moderating Hamas, then we could understand the strategy. But in fact, the opposite is true. Hamas in all its public statements continues to toe its ultra-extremist line, and the Turkish government is the one that distanced itself from Israel. So it looks like Hamas is influencing the Turkish government, and not vice versa."
Palmor's position seems the more likely scenario, which is in keeping with what God's Word tells us is ultimately coming where Israel-Turkey relations are concerned. But could there be a warming of relations between Turkey and Israel before the Battle of Gog-Magog? Certainly, but any hopeful diplomatic overtures will be temporary at best. Make no mistake about it, Turkey and Israel (among others in the region) are going to meet in battle. We have God's Word on it!
A Massive Attack
In Ezekiel 38:9, we're told that the Gog-Magog confederacy, which Turkey will be a member of, is going to attack the nation of Israel in the prophetic future in dramatic fashion, intent on delivering a crushing, if not fatal, blow. Hamas would be proud!
“Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee”.
The imagery conjured by Ezekiel 38:9’s text evokes a massive assault. Scripture makes it crystal clear that the attack of which I'm writing will not be limited in scope. It won't be a surgical military strike but a blitzkreig. In spite of this, to the surprise of the attacking hordes and the entire world, the effort will fail miserably because of the direct intervention of Almighty God.
Ezekiel 38-18-23: And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, [that] my fury shall come up in my face”.
For in my jealousy [and] in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that [are] upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that [are] with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
Conclusions
What we are today witnessing, namely Turkey's warming of relations with Israel's enemies, is a harbinger of things to come. End times things to come no less!
A massive military attack against the nation of Israel by Russia, Iran, Turkey and others in the region is coming into view on the prophetic horizon. When the Gog-Magog prophecy is fulfilled, the attacking forces will meet with a terrible end! Only one of every six aggressors will escape with their lives, according to Ezekiel 39:2
Keep looking up! Jesus Christ is Lord and our redemption draweth nigh!
