The Current Wars against Israel and End-Times Prophecy

New York Jewish Week sarcastically responded to the Secretary of Defense's public calling out of Israeli leadership in which he yelled out, "Just get to the [expletive] table [negotiating table]!" The tongue-in-cheek editorial announced: "How foolish of the rest of us not to have thought of [Panetta's] sage advice!" However, the editorial goes on to argue that the Israeli leadership has been prepared all along to get to the [expletive] table; it is the refusal of the Palestinians to acknowledge Israel's right to exist that has been the real problem.
On Friday, the Jerusalem Post ran a response to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton slamming Israeli democracy by comparing the role of women in Israel to the treatment of women in Iran. The Post pointed out that in Israel, women serve in key leadership areas, including president of the Supreme Court, as major-general in the Israeli army, as representatives in the Knesset (the Israeli Congress), in courts, in academia, etc. So how does that compare with women's opportunities in Iran? Or, how about the rights of women in allies of the U.S., such as Saudi Arabia where women cannot drive, or Egypt and Qatar where men can marry several women and divorce them without any rights, custody of children, or alimony?
These statements from key cabinet members of the Obama administration portray a war that is being waged against Israel. This administration's war against Israel appears to align perfectly with the U.S. role in Bible prophecy. After all, America is absent from end-times prophecy; and since Israel is at the very center of God's prophetic plan, we would expect the U.S. to move away from the side of the Jewish nation before God fulfills Bible prophecy. This is exactly what has been—and is—occurring.
Meanwhile, another war on Israel continues—the Palestinian war against the Jewish state. Palestinians from Gaza continue launching rockets against Israel. Just since the beginning of October, more than 70 rockets and missiles from Gaza have rained down on Israel. Of course, Gaza is an area controlled by Hamas, a Palestinian group driven to eliminate the Jewish state—a group that has boasted of killing 1,365 Israelis since its founding 24 years ago, resulting from 1,117 attacks against Israel, including 87 suicide bombings and 11,093 rocket launchings.
Just last week, Hamas called for an Arab army to "liberate Jerusalem." Clearly, there is a war there is a war being waged against Israel by the Palestinians, which is a clear statement that the Palestinian leadership is not interested in a peace treaty with Israel.
That is Gaza, but in the West Bank, the peace process has become irrelevant. The Palestinians on the street neither believe there will be a treaty between Israel and the Palestinian leadership, nor do they see any real benefit for it. In addition, the Palestinian leadership in the West Bank has no incentive to sign a peace deal with Israel.
According to Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, Russia's support of the PA's U.N. bid keeps the Palestinians from a treaty. That means that Russia fully supports Palestinian membership at the U.N., which, in essence, is a support of a Palestinian state without negotiations with Israel.
In the meantime, when Quartet representatives came to Jerusalem recently, Israeli officials resumed the call to the Palestinians to engage in negotiations for Middle East peace. However, the Palestinians rejected Israel's invitation to engage in talks.
Of course they would reject a call to engage in negotiations with Israel, as they have several reasons to do so. One of those is the enablement they are receiving from Russia for staying away from the table. Another reason for rejecting is that Palestinian leadership cannot bring themselves to recognize the right of Israel to exist. A third reason—and the most important one of all—is that God's plan does not allow the Palestinians to confirm a treaty with Israel.
While Israel would love to attain "peace and security" from a treaty with the Palestinians, the truth is that this kind of treaty will only appear to be realized in one which will be confirmed with ten leaders of other nations. These ten, identified as "kings" in Daniel 7 and Revelation 17, will be leaders of real nations, while the Palestinians do not have a nation (and may never have one). Thus, the Palestinians are not in God's prophetic picture, which is why they refuse to negotiate with Israel and why they continue to wage a war against Israel. They do not understand they are being moved by God to do what He desires to do (as per Proverbs 21:1 and Isaiah 40:23), which involves keeping them from inking a treaty with the Jewish nation.
Neither do the Russians understand how they are being used of God, as they back the Palestinian push for a state and encourage their ongoing war with the Jewish state. Nor does the current administration seem to realize the role it is playing in God's direction toward the end-times treaty. Yet, this is how God sovereignly works, as He puts together ALL of the pieces to accomplish His kingdom plan—a plan that even includes the ongoing wars against Israel.
